Strategic Outreach Assistant, External Relations
The Charles Koch Institute is seeking an External Relations Program Assistant to join its growing external affairs team. This individual will be responsible for outreach and relationship building with traditional and non-traditional allies, organizing and driving events that advance current policy debates, and working on future initiatives that support the Institute’s educational goals as a school. Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintain a robust grasp of CKI’s key policy priorities and how they relate to some of the most important policy debates at the state and federal level • Represent the Charles Koch Institute at external events in Washington, DC and across the country • Build relationships with both traditional and non-traditional allies • Oversee and maintain internal capabilities, ranging from team communications, key events calendar, and contact databases • Proactively engage key thought leaders who may provide value for CKI’s educational efforts • Outline and execute initiatives with key audiences that best advance economic freedom and societal well-being • Maintain open communications and seek feedback from internal teams regarding goals and priorities of the external relations team • Lend skills to other internal teams on projects to create additional value Qualifications: • 3+ years’ experience in political, public policy, or external facing roles • Willingness and ability to travel • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills • Record of thinking tactically and producing tangible outcomes when assigned a strategic framework, and ability to think strategically tactically, and entrepreneurially • Humility, integrity, and professionalism • Passion for economic freedom and societal well-being EOE/M/F/D/V
