Academic Research Manager
The Charles Koch Foundation seeks a program manager to join its Higher Education team, which works to increase the effectiveness of individuals and institutions in higher education to advance the ideas of a free society. The program manager will primarily contribute to our academic research initiative. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Coordinate with multiple team members to drive the academic research initiative’s objectives through strategic investments in university-based centers and programs • Analyze academic research opportunities and grant proposals, and provide recommendations for funding decisions • Review and analyze research papers by professors and academic centers • Maintain a current perspective on results from CKF investments as well as the academic research marketplace • Identify new projects in the academic research space and drive to completion • Coordinate with other non-profit organizations and professors on projects Qualifications: • 3-5 years of related experience • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; advanced degree in economics or public policy strongly preferred • Comfortable reading and synthesizing technical academic papers • Strong communication skills and professional writing abilities • Ability to drive multiple concurrent projects to completion • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment • Ability to serve as an effective liaison to internal and external partners • Strong entrepreneurial spirit • Detail-oriented, high sense of urgency, analytical, customer focused • Solid understanding of and passion for freedom All candidates will be asked to submit a writing sample for consideration.
